Bonne année 2018 tout le monde !
Here in France, local bi-monthly gaming magazine Canard PC teamed up with investigative blog Mediapart in order to write a series of articles about working conditions in the video game industry. There's a lot of work to cover, and until now, they're doing quite well. They (together with French journal Le Monde) recently singled out Quantic Dream and its bosses, David Cage and Guillaume de Fondaumière, as archetypes of mismanagement and toxic culture in video game development.
The 3 original French articles can be accessed for a fee. But the English press translated some parts :http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2018- ... io-culturehttps://www.theguardian.com/games/2018/ ... nvironmenthttps://kotaku.com/david-cages-quantic- ... 1822068440https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2018/0 ... onditions/
Disclosure : I wrote some articles for Canard PC's website, and William Audureau, who wrote the article in Le Monde (and who is also a veteran of video game press and author of many books on video game history, including Super Mario and Pong) is a personal friend of mine. So my appreciation of these articles may be biased. But I found them excellent and reliable.
